While studying at Hitotsubashi University Faculty of Commerce and Management, Takashi participated in the launch of CyberCash Co., Ltd. (now VeriTrans Inc.), a Japanese subsidiary of U.S. company, CyberCash, Inc., and served as CEO of the company until 2015. In 2012, he co-founded econtext ASIA Limited under the umbrella of Digital Garage, and the company was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in the following year 2013. In 2016, he became CEO of SBI Ripple Asia Co., Ltd., contributing to the practical application of blockchain technology in Japan and Asia. During that time, he also served as an executive at unicorn companies, such as Ripple Labs, Inc. in the U.S. and Tokopedia in Indonesia. His main official posts are expert advisor to the Financial System Council and SBI Graduate School Business Management Research Professor. He was selected as one of ‘100 people to change Japan’ at Nikkei Business in 2014.
