Joined IBM Japan in 1986, and was seconded to IBM USA in 2010 as Vice President in charge of financial systems business and business development. In 2011, he became Senior Managing Executive Officer of IBM Japan, responsible for software business and global technology services business. In 2017, he was appointed Chairman and Representative Director of Aozora Trust Bank (now GMO Aozora Net Bank). He is also a director of GMO Internet, GMO Payment Gateway, and GMO Financial Holdings.
