2^nd Future Frontier Fes by FINOLAB（4F）is scheduled to be held on Feb. 22 to 26, 2021, following the success of 1^st event in 2020. “4F” is an annual event for various stakeholders of financial innovation to gather and discuss their future action. As we came to recognize the “Vulnerability” of the entire society because of the COVID 19, we have set the “RESILIENCE” as the main theme of 4F this year to discuss response of financial service using digital technology.

MESSAGE

REBOOT（再起動）の意義と「4F」の内容につきまして

みなさま、こんにちは。Head of FINOLABの柴田です。

本来、金融分野におけるイノベーションを象徴するはずであった「FinTech」という言葉の認知度が最近急速に上がったものの、それだけでわかったような気になる一種の思考停止ワードとなりつつあるのも事実です。今回副題に掲げている「REBOOT＝再起動」は、そうした状況を打破し、様々な挑戦を行おうとしている皆様に新たな出発点を見出していただきたいという願いをこめて、メインテーマとさせていただきました。

当初は丸ビルホールでの大規模な開催を想定していましたが、最近のコロナウィルス感染拡大対策のため、「4F」は3日間にわたってオンラインで開催させていただきます。イノベーションの重要性を提唱する我々としては、中止や延期ではなく、各種制約のなかで最善をつくすことこそが新しい挑戦につながると考えるに至りました。

初日は、FinTech分野において世界的に有名なChris Skinnerさんをお招きし、技術進歩とともに金融の世界がいかに変化をとげているのか論じていただきます。また、この1年間に世に出た金融領域におけるイノベーティブな商品やサービス、ビジネスモデルや協業モデルを表彰する「Japan Financial Innovation Award（ JFIA：ジャパン・フィナンシャル・イノベーション・アワード、以下JFIA）」によって、最新のベストプラクティスを認識していただき、それぞれの分野で「次の一手」を考える参考にしていただきます。

2日目は、金融業務が技術進歩によってどのように変化をとげつつあるのかを、日本銀行の副島さんやLayerXの福島さんなどの有識者に議論いただき、決済や資金調達の未来をイメージすることによって、新しい金融の可能性を考える出発点としていただく予定です。

3日目には、量子コンピュータといった先端技術やスタートアップにフォーカスし、金融の枠にとらわれることなく、未来の世界がどのような姿になるか考える機会としていただきたいと考えています。

閉塞感のある日々が続きますが、「4F」への参加を通じて、将来につながるアクションを考える契機になれば幸いです。
